Anti-Spam Question:

There are more than 100 types of offenses that fall under the category of "federal crimes"; and, in addition to these, ANY crime that is committed on federal property is subject to federal prosecution. Examples of federal crimes are:

  • Child pornography
  • Controlled substance violations
  • Counterfeiting
  • Customs violations
  • Espionage
  • Gun law violations
  • Immigration law violations
  • Kidnapping
  • Mail fraud
  • Social security fraud
  • Terrorism
  • Wire fraud
  • And ANY offense committed on Federal property.

There is also the possibility that you may be charged with a crime at both the State level and the Federal level. In this case, you must answer to the charges in each court.

While most attorneys can adequately represent you in State court, very few have the knowledge and experience to represent you in Federal Court. Federal sentencing guidelines require that judges must impose pre-determined minimum mandatory sentence and, even though the judges may feel that the sentence is excessive, they have virtually no authority to deviate from those guidelines. An attorney who can navigate the complicated "point" system upon which the sentencing guidelines are based, may be able to successfully "argue" your case in federal court resulting in a reduced sentence or even dismissal.

5 Ken was my relentless advocate every step of the way

I was facing a life with a marked physical disability and unable to work, but things changed for the better the moment I called Ken Halperin. Ken was my relentless advocate every step of the way with his cool and calm personality. I can't thank Ken and everyone from Wingate Russotti and Shapiro enough because without all their hard work this settlement would have never gotten done.
