WRS Partner Cliff Shapiro settled this case for $370,000.00. The accident took place at 9:45 p.m. at a restaurant located in Manhattan. The client was a 60-year-old woman who was dancing to disco music on a portable outdoor dance floor made up of wooden squares when she tripped and fell due to grooves in the floor.
As a result of the accident she sustained a left hip femoral neck fracture requiring closed reduction and percutaneous pinning.
The defendant's attorney contended that our client lost her balance while she was dancing and that there was nothing wrong with the design of the dance floor.
